The Four Bridges Project has been a part of the Second Life community since February 2008. Our founder, millay Freschi, along with generous donations from others, provided much of the financial resources that kept the project alive until the sims were closed in 2014. In February of 2019, the Four Bridges Project reopened with an official nonprofit designation so that others could donate and be able to count that donation as charitable and official! Four Bridges has ALWAYS despised chasing money, especially when it takes precedence over mission, but in order to keep the Four Bridges Project’s mission going, we must extend our “ask” to the members of the community.
Our immediate need is for the renewal of tier in August 2019. With the discount afforded through Linden Lab, our sim tier is $747 and homestead for our featured artist $417 for 6 months ($1164 USD Total) and $1494 and $834 respectively for an annual renewal ($2328 USD Total). Monthly billing is not available.
This first 6 months has been quiet as we build and figure out where we’re going and where the community has gone. So much is going on in the world that requires our immediate and full attention that it’s been a little overwhelming. We knew that we wanted to give voice to the feminine (without forsaking the masculine) with our “Women Speak” theme and that is something that we want to continue. Suzen Juel (Juel Resistance) will continue as our featured artist for the next 6 months and we will be featuring other artists on the sim.
Our Narrative group grows stronger and we will be adding some workshops, seminars, and classes around some of the topics that we’ve been discussing. millay will be facilitating these and will ask for a charitable donation for her time and to help keep 4B going. The bookstore and coffee shop are well underway and will also provide entertainment and groups for you to explore and join.
Our commitment to the natural world grows stronger as the imperative intensifies. We will be building an exhibit that shows the consequence of climate change and will also add workshops, seminars, and classes in steps that you can take to help bring awareness, make change, and facilitate change in your physical communities. We will do widespread outreach to key players in climate change including our governments and big business for both support in our efforts and change in theirs.
We hope that you will consider donating to these efforts either through your financial contribution or through action and engagement. As donations come in, millay will be posting an accounting for full transparency and is happy to accommodate your need for receipts.
The Four Bridges Project is a 501c3 (Nonprofit) registered in the state of Maine. All donations are tax deductible and will be used to advance the mission of the Four Bridges Project. If you require more than the receipt provided via email after your donation, please contact millay Freschi through our contact page or email.
